Our club currently does not officially endorse specific candidates, and we encourage voters to become more educated about the candidates and their platforms by visiting venues such as our meetings.

May 21, 2009 general meeting - We had a really informative evening with fellow local Coppell members learning more about the candidates for the upcoming 2010 election. Many of these candidates are judges and lawyers who already had a busy day at work and came all the way to Coppell to share their principal ideas with us. We appreciate the opportunity.
March 19, 2009 general meeting - We started the new year at a new location, Siena's Pizza, and had a really enjoyable evening with Democratic and like-minded friends. Also discussed and learned a lot about the upcoming local elections.
anuary 20, 2009 Inauguration Celebration - Club members joined many other Democrats from northwest Dallas county to celebrate and welcome President Obama's inauguration, at BoomerJack Wings & Grill in Valley Ranch.
November 20, 2008 general meeting - Club members met to celebrate the general election results and to discuss future focus and activites.
September 18, 2008 general meeting - Club members met to discuss the November 4th general election and the various volunteering activities.
July 17, 2008 general meeting - Our club has endorsed the fundraising for the Dallas County Democratic Party's Coordinated Campaign as well as for Dallas County Sheriff Lupe Valdez's re-election. We are also urging members to support the Precinct Development Project that is a joint effert between Obama for America and the DCDP's Coordinated Campaign
June 28, 2008 "Unite for Change" - Over five dozen people attended and learned about opportunities to make a difference in the November 4th general election.
June 6-7, 2008 State Democratic Convention - Quite a few CVR Democrats and other local residents joined thousands of enthusiastic delegates at the 2008 Texas Democratic State Convention at Austin.
May 15, 2008 general meeting - Don Adams, Democratic candidate for Criminal District Judge, Court No 2, was our featured speaker. He spoke about the Dallas County Democratic Party's Coordinated Campaign for county-wide and area races.
March 20, 2008 general meeting - The subject of our meeting was "Don't Forget the Rest of the Ballot".
January 17, 2008 general meeting - We had an exciting meeting tonight. Many candidates appeared at our meeting, and there was a forum where candidates in contested races spoke in depth about their qualifications and issues. For the Dallas County Sheriff's race, the incumbent Lupe Valdez and the other Democratic candidates Peter Schulte, Sam Allen Roy H Williams, Jr., all appeared and spoke at the forum. Ray McMurrey, Dem. candidate in the contested race against Rick Noriega, introduced himself and spoke at length about his platform. Many thanks to all the candidates who came, and there will be more to come in our next meeting.
November 15, 2007 general meeting - Our speakers were: Dallas County Sheriff Lupe Valdez, who is running for re-election in 2008 (http://www.lupevaldez.com/index.html) and Diana Lackey, who is running for Dallas County Tax Assessor-Collector (www.dianalackey.com). We also discussed plans for our activities for 2008.
September 20, 2007 general meeting - Our speakers were Hon. Martin Hoffman, Judge, 68th Civil District Court, and Hon. Carter Thompson, Judge, 5th Criminal District Court. Both gentlemen were elected to their benches in November 2006. They discussed the progress Democrats have made in Dallas County, both in terms of getting elected and in terms of making a positive difference once elected." We also talked about how best to use the November and January meetings, since the March Primary falls before our March meeting.
July 19, 2007 general meeting - We had a a relaxed social gathering and discussion of current events.
May 17, 2007 general meeting - Our featured speaker was Darlene Ewing, Chair of the Dallas County Democratic Party. She reviewed the 2006 election (and the momentous changes that occurred in Dallas County) and took a look forward to the 2008 primaries and election. A new visitor, Emil Reichstadt, announced his Senate candidacy to unseat John Cornyn. The Coppell Valley Ranch Democrats organization does not officially endorse specific candidates, and we welcome all candidates to our club to introduce themselves and their campaign platform.
Mar 15, 2007 general meeting - Our featured speaker was Susie Stonecipher, Past President of Colleyville, Grapevine, Southlake Democrats. Susie described the history and current activities of their club and others in Tarrant County.
Jan 18, 2007 general meeting - We had a lively roundtable discussion about our strategies and tactics for 2007-2008. There were many ideas and we need to hear more from you. Pat Lambert discussed the U.S. Mayor's Climate Protection Agreement and introduced us to her effort to encourage the Coppell City Council to sign the agreement.
November 16, 2006 general meeting - We celebrated Dallas Country turning Blue! We also tallied the final results for the Volunteer Hours Contest and awarded the winners. Joss Romero gave us an overview of electronic voting issues.
September 21, 2006 general meeting - Getting out the Democratic Vote & electing Democrats in the November 7 election. Several candidates will appear, including Gary Page, Democratic candidate for U.S. House of Representatives (Congressional District 24), and Bob Romano, Democratic candidate for Texas House (State House District 105).
July 20, 2006 general meeting - We had visits from several of the Democrats running for judge in Dallas County, all very qualified candidates we can be proud of: Robert Burns, Martin Hoffman, Peggy Hoffman (Martin & Peggy are not related), Doug Skemp, and Carter Thompson. They discussed their own individual qualifications and the Dallas County Democratic Party Coordinated Campaign. Members also heard book reviews about these books: Don't Think of an Elephant by George Lakoff; Take it Back by James Carville & Paul Begala; and Crashing the Gate by Jerome Armstrong & Markos Moulitsas Zúniga. The common theme: how to elect more Democrats.
May 18, 2006 general meeting - Topics includes GOTV (Getting out the vote) this November, Dallas County Clerk candidate John Warren, and the Dallas County judicial candidates' coordinated campaign.
March 16, 2006 general meeting - Agenda items includes the March 7 TX Democratic Primary results and the run-off election held on Tuesday, April 11. We'll also have two activities relating to the judiciary: one that's fun & one that's educational.
